Celebrations

Bring the whole party. We will lay the long table.

Birthdays, christenings, wedding lunches and company dinners. A long table at one end of the room, the dining room given over to one party, or the whole house for the day.

Whichever of the three it is, the kitchen cooks one menu for everybody at the table, and the evening is agreed with you long before the day.

Three shapes an evening takes.

How many each of these holds depends on the date and how the room is laid out for you, so it is worth a word with us rather than a number read off a page.

Birthdays and family lunches

The long table

One table set apart at the end of the dining room, with the rest of the room serving as it always does. For the party that wants its own corner of the evening rather than a room of its own.

Christenings and wedding lunches

The dining room

The room given over to one party, and one menu for everybody in it. We stop taking other bookings for that service, so the kitchen and the service belong to your table from the aperitivo onwards.

Company evenings and receptions

The whole house

Dining room and bar together, for an evening that starts standing with a glass in hand and sits down to eat later. Worth asking about early, since it takes the whole house out of the book for the day.

If what you have in mind is none of the three, say so anyway. Most of what we have put on started as a question nobody had asked us before.

The kitchen

One menu for the table, agreed before the day.

A party does not order a plate at a time. We write a short menu with you beforehand, two or three choices at each course, and the kitchen sends every course out for the whole table at once, so nobody is eating while somebody else is still waiting.

An aperitivo to open it, wine chosen against that menu rather than after it, and anything a guest cannot eat cooked around instead of left off the plate. Tell us at the enquiry and it is settled long before the day.

Enquiries

Tell us the date and how many you are.

Write to us or call. We come back with what the rooms can do on that date, a menu to choose from and a price for the evening, usually the same day.
